Intercultural Training for Educators of Adult Migrants (InterTrainE) : 2018-1-UK01-KA204-047987
October 2018 – November 2020 Europe is experiencing one of the most significant arrivals of migrants and refugees in its history. As the number of migrants entering Europe rapidly increases, their
Thank you very much!! I was lucky to be part of this course!
I will definitely make use of it!
I learned how to be more empathetic to the learners. It was very valuable.
This course made me be more understanding to intercultural students’ needs and be more empathetic. Moreover, I realize for sure that it’s quite risky to believe that you can teach intercultural students without having gained any previous training.
For me, realising and accepting that we all have biases (conscious or unconscious) is very important. We all bring our baggage into the educational process and being able to accept and deal with that is crucial in our role as educators.”
I will definitely do many of the role play and the quizzes that are in the course material.
I will definitely use all the tools and the experience that Ι gained from this course since it made me realize that every student has to be treated differently according to their background, origination and experiences.
All the educational experience from the course material, the methodology, results, case studies and discussions were a chance to go deeper and understand the particularities in intercultural education in different target groups. By far, was given the chance to us think and share experience in order to face the challenges in and out of the classroom.
Even though I am not an educator, the InterTrainE course was very useful for me in order to better understand, interact and support people that are different from me, have different cultural background etc.
I am going to reconsider some methods that I use based on the course material.
I will definitely use many of the exercises and the material presented in the course. I will also read and reflect on my own practice using the tools provided.
Actually, I'm not an educator but I learned so many things during the course and I will use everything that I learned during my eventual educator career
I will use empathy as a guiding principle and ask 'how can I help' rather than state what is wrong.
I will try to put the theory into practice, in my classroom
I personally believe the given tools, materials and resources are very useful not only for those who work in the formal education field but also to everyone interested on making a positive impact through education and learning.
We work with migrants of all ages in language education training and different projects, and it has been very useful for our staff to participate in the training and focus on considering the issues of intercultural communication with other staff. We will use the course material later with our staff and other trainings we have.”
As an adult training centre, we are going to use InterTrainE materials for our courses. We will also share these materials with our educators.
